We have some sad news to impart to all the guests that have stayed with us over the last seven years. Our goat, Maurice, is now grazing in the big green pasture in the sky. He passed away on Sunday night, April 21, 2013. We will miss him and hope he is eating all the elderberry leaves he wants. Some day we will get another goat, maybe a pygmy goat. If you have any memories of Maurice, you can go to our blog and leave a comment.
Spring has arrived. The temperatures are hovering at 80 degrees. The cottonwoods and sycamores are clothed in their new greenery and even the mesquite are leafing out, a sure sign to us natives that there will be no more freezes. The hills are covered in many different shades of green. It is beautiful. Our wild flowers should be wonderful this year with the winter snow and rains. We invite people from Tucson, Phoenix and anywhere else who like nature, to come down and enjoy the beautiful weather at Spirit Tree Inn B & B.
The wineries, eleven of them right now, are open Fri thru Sun. Some are open all week and a few are open at other times with an appointment. Check out the Arizona Vines and Wines web site. We have two rooms that can be booked for one night.
Birders welcome! This part of
Southeastern Arizona is truly a unique bird watching area where you can spend many
wonderful days finding many unique birds. Our Northern Cardinals can be seen daily as well as Canyon Towhees and Canyon Wrens. We also have Black-headed and Say's Phoebes, Acorn and Gila Woodpeckers, and the Anna's, Rufous, Broad-billed and Black-chinned Hummingbirds to name a few. Our Vermillion Flycatchers are busy flitting around pursuing the many flying insects on our property. We have many pairs of Black-Headed Grossbeaks. Our Elf Owls are now nesting. All three Orioles are present at the Hummingbird feeders and now the Summer, Hepatic and Western Tanagers can be seen as well. Many other birds can be seen in our patio
and on the property. Other unique birding areas are within a short

We do family reunions, girls weekends, weddings, retreats and just plain get to gethers. Please call and ask for more details.
